Venture Outdoors has been removing barriers to outdoor access for over 25 years. Our adaptive paddling gear has helped folks experience all the joys paddling can bring. Join us at North Park Lake to test out all of our gear and find what works best for you. No experience required! This program is FREE for participants and one guest thanks grant funding from WeConservePA and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Pennsylvania Recreational Trails Program funded through the Federal Highway Administration. Join us on September 12, 2026 for a guided tour on North Park Lake! Trip Leaders Our trained Kayak Pittsburgh Excursionists will introduce our gear offerings and then will help folks put them to use on the water. We'll provide all gear and paddling instruction necessary! Activity level Beginner - This is a slow paced, introductory paddle designed for kayakers with little to no experience. North Park Lake is a flatwater lake with no current and motorized watercraft are prohibited. It is a great environment for new paddlers! Distance The distance covered during the open paddle time will be up to the participants on the water. Ticket Sales Ticket sales will close 24 hours before the event start time

Venture Outdoors has equipment that can make all aspects of the paddling process + our area of the boathouse accessible. There are accessible restrooms in the park.
